Try the blind test
A preset of ten small numbers, applied to the weights of an image model, was meant to give character portraits a more American-comic look leaning toward animation: flat colours and clean lines, with proportions exaggerated only slightly. Its author tuned it on four characters and then froze it; the pairs below include three characters it never saw.
Here you get 14 pairs. In each, one portrait carries the preset and the other does not; which side is random. Answer by first impression. You can use the arrow keys.
Which of the two portraits looks more like an American comic leaning toward animation — flatter colours and cleaner lines?
One question first: have you already seen the base and preset pictures of this test, on page 28 or in the story?

This opens a GitHub issue with your answers already written in; you can read it before submitting, and nothing is sent unless you do. It needs a GitHub account. Shared answers are kept apart from the pre-registered result: most people taking this have read the description first, and some have seen the pictures.
